ENVIRONMENTAL
IMPACT ASSESSMENT
The
purpose of EIA is to identify and predict the possible impacts
on the bio-geo-physical socio-cultural and economic environments
of development proposals in order that steps can be taken
to avoid negative impacts and maximise those whose effects
are positive.
We
are able to provide you with the full range of EIA services.
Our experience has been gathered on a diverse range of projects
including water resources, sanitation, road building and industrial
developments in different parts of the world.
The
EIA studies we conduct are comprehensive and may generally
be divided into the following project phases:
-
Definition of study goals (i.e. aims and objectives)
-
Consideration of all possible options
- Scoping
- identification and determination of all potentially significant
impacts
- Evaluation
of impacts and consideration of mitigation
- Communication
of findings and recommendations
- Post
project monitoring and assessment
The
multi-cultural and mulit-lingual nature of our team of engineers
means that we are especially well placed when it comes to
conducting EIA's with a strong social component in developing
countries. |
