A HANDS-ON COURSE
Borehole and
Aquifer Test Interpretation
This two day course presents an introduction to the practical
interpretation of pumping test data for well efficiency and
determination of aquifer properties. Appropriate level of
data interpretation and the dangers of inappropriate use of
the pumping test solutions are described. Implications of
data errors, and the contrast between ideal conceptual models
and real aquifers are highlighted. An introduction to Environmental
Simulations AquiferWin32 pumping test interpretation software
is provided, together with hands-on exercises designed to
provide practical skills for the efficient analysis of pumping
test results.
Topics
include designing pumping tests; analytical and semi-analytical
solutions used and the conceptual assumptions behind them;
slug tests, step tests and constant yield tests, interpretation
of aquifer transmissivity and storage parameters, interpretations
for different aquifer characteristics, use of automated computer
based tools.
Dates,
Locations, Costs and Registration:
The course can be organised as small
in-house, or a group course depending on your requirements.
